Courtney Jackson

Local Coordinator, Denver

Hola! My name is Courtney Jackson. I was born and raised around Atlanta, Georgia where I graduated from Eastside High School in Newton County. I went to the University of Georgia where I studied International Relations and Spanish for 3.5 years. After graduating in 2012, I decided to continue my education at UGA with a Masters in Nonprofit Management. Before graduating in 2014, I helped design a study abroad program in Northern Ireland… and then studied abroad there!

After college, I joined AmeriCorps VISTA for two years and did service as a inter-city meal provider for an organization that needed a Spanish speaker to run community relations. I began my teaching career in 2015 as a long term substitute for my high school and then accepted a full time Spanish teaching job in 2016 at my cross-town rival school, Newton High School. I taught high school Spanish 1 & 2 in Georgia for 3 years before taking a job out in Colorado and making the move to the Denver area.

I taught Spanish 1-4 for 2 years at a charter school before moving to Merrill Middle School where I am now. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my pup, Loveland the Lab, visiting Colorado’s National Parks, and traveling down to Costa Rica to spend time with my boyfriend. I’m excited to be joining the Live N Learn team as the Denver Local Coordinator and I look forward to meeting all of your beautiful faces soon!
