Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Barcelona, Spain! Day 2: BARCELONA Bienvenidos a Barcelona! Get acquainted with the city by wandering through the maize-like Gothic quarter and taking a stroll down Las Ramblas. Explore Park Güell, arguably the most beautiful park in all of Spain. Day 3: BARCELONA Take an e-bike tour up to Montjüic to enjoy spectacular views of the city. Later, visit Antoni Gaudi’s architectural masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia. Day 4: AÍNSA Depart from Barcelona and travel to Ainsa, a magnificent medieval town. Kayak down a river tucked away in the Pyrenees mountain range and take in the picturesque scenery of the Aragon countryside. Day 5: VILLAGE TOUR / HUESCA Travel to the Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña, a spectacular structure built under a rock for shelter in the 10th century. Visit Jaca, known as the “Pearl of the Pyrenees”, combining historical heritage and nature and finish the evening in Huesca, the hometown of Dr. Auseré! Day 6: HUESCA / BEGIN HOMESTAY IN PAMPLONA Start the day with churros con chocolate and take a tour of Huesca visiting the emblematic sites and childhood favorites of Dr. Auseré. After lunch, travel to the Castillo de Loarre, the most important Romanesque fortress in Spain. Later, travel to Pamplona where you will begin your homestay. Days 7-16: HOMESTAY IN PAMPLONA Enjoy the authentic experience of living like a Spanish teenager as your family welcomes you into their home and shows you Pamplona and the Spanish way of life. Day 17: MADRID Head to Madrid and see firsthand the hustle and bustle of Spain’s capital city. Finish the day at a Flamenco performance, enjoying an artistic expression that emerged in Andalusia as a result of the mixing of Gypsy, Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures. Day 18: MADRID See how royalty lived in the lavish Palacio Real and relax at the monumental Retiro Park. Enjoy free time for shopping and absorbing your last hours in Spain. Day 19: Adios España! Fly back to the U.S. |
