Ursuline – Perú Spring Break 2025

Day 1: Travel to Peru!

Welcome to The Land of the Incas. Stay the night in Lima and get excited for the journey ahead.

Day 2: SACRED VALLE

Take a flight from Lima to Cusco. Enjoy a scenic drive to the Sacred Valley, at one time the heart of of the Incan empire. Visit Pisac to see the ancient Incan ruins, vibrant indigenous markets, and stunning Andean landscapes. Stay the night tucked away in the mountains in Urubamba as you get acclimated to the altitude.

Days 3: SACRED VALLEY / MISMINAY

Visit the local market to buy fresh fruits and vegetables for our meals in Misminay. Visit the Salineras salt mines, and Moray, agricultural terraces believed to have been used by the Incas for experimentation with crops and climates. Later go to Misminay to be welcomed by the community in a traditional ceremony.

Day 4: MISMINAY

Spend the day working together with your peers on a volunteer project to help the Anccoto school.

Day 5: MISMINAY

Attend school for a day and spend time with the local kindergarten and high school students. Later in the day, take in the history and incredible nature surrounding the town on a walking tour.

Day 6: AGUAS CALIENTES. / MACHU PICCHU

Enjoy a breathtaking train ride to Aguas Calientes to visit Machu Picchu, an ancient Indian citadel set atop the Andes mountains, and be amazed by the vastness of one of the wonders of the world.

Days 7: AGUAS CALIENTES / CUSCO

Travel from Aguas Calientes to Cusco. Stroll through the historic center of the city, visiting important Incan temples like Qorikancha and Quenquo.

Day 8: CUSCO

Explore the Plaza de Armas as well as the neighborhood of San Blas, an area of the city known for its local artisans and cultural importance. Enjoy souvenir shopping and interacting with locals in the markets and local shops.

Days 9: CUSCO / FLY HOME

Explore Cusco’s famous San Pedro Market and take in all the vibrant colors and smells of the local produce. Later fly to Lima from which you will fly home on a late evening, overnight flight.

Day 10: FLY HOME

Travel back home. Adios Peru!
